Releases moonmixer – Too Long [Almar] By Release Promo Posted on 2 weeks ago 6 min read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Continuing to add exciting new talent to their roster, Almar opens up the month of March by welcoming moonmixer to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from the Ukraine, Serhii Zviahin aka moonmixer has emerged from his country's electronic music landscape with a fresh approach to melodic house and techno. Noted for his attention to detail and musical depth, moonmixer's craft shines through vividly, making each one of his creations a memorable experience. On the strength of his initial self-released tracks in 2024, such as 'Eclipse', 'Vortex' and 'Solar', the Kyiv resident would go on to sign projects to CROCUS and Polarity Underground, in turn making for a strong start 2025. Now, continuing on that upwards trajectory, moonmixer adds Almar to his resume with a two-track showcase 'Too Long'. Title track ‘Too Long’ leads the release off in fine fashion and only furthers moonmixer's knack for crafting cutting edge melodic techno. Strong kick drums and a bed of charged rhythms provide the anchor for layers of emotive vocals, club-effective percussion and sweeping effects. Cruising with an effortless ease, there's a strong sense of flow across the first act, as soaring vocals hover above trance-inspired melodies, not only adding depth and character, but a bridge into a timely break. Here, crunchy design qualities and rolling percussion add a sense of anticipation, eventually giving way to a tasteful build and a finale of prophetic synth mutations. The equally impressive 'Body Move’ serves as the companion piece and complements its predecessor very well. Geared more towards a commercial dancefloor, moonmixer's pristine production chops serve him well here, bursting with colourful qualities and a keen sense of rhythm and groove, as basslines charge forward and pyrotechnic designs steal the air. Deconstructed vocals add nicely to the narrative across the break, bringing a main room quality to the track, before getting washed away as a rush of drums spark a finale of ultra-sonic clusters, one that further solidifies moonmixer as a rising talent to watch.
