Moonface – Youths ShootiN [If You Wait]

Chris Cargo's If You Wait imprint welcomes Phil Thompson aka Moonface to the label for his debut single 'Youths ShootiN'. The UK producer is famed for being one of the core artists during the formative years of John Digweed's Bedrock Records. A resident at the label's night at 'Heaven' for over five years, Phil also has the distinction of playing at Sasha's 'Airdrawndagger' album launch party, also at the historic London venue. Now following a year which included releases on Mirabilis Records and Krafted Underground, Moonface debuts on If You Wait alongside a remix from label boss Chris Cargo.

Kicking off with the original mix, Moonface crafts a timeless slice of deep, percussive house. Backed by a full bodied and moderately romping groove it's the rhythmic qualities and vocal fragments which quickly appease the senses. Fluid and a touch cosmic, it's appeal is far reaching with moments of funk, drama and most importantly an evolving storyboard which continues to delight with each successive loop. The release is rounded out in fine style with Chris Cargo providing the lone interpretation of 'Youths ShootiN'. The Irish artist and If You Wait label boss has risen out of years of inactivity to become one of progressive music's most reliable artists once again. His groovy, peak time approach to the genre has integrated itself perfectly into today's current sound and it continues on his 'Youths ShootiN' rendition. The tempo shifts down for a darker, heady and more subversive take as cross cultural themes steal the air throughout. An icy atmospheric back drop provides a running tone of tension before melting down for a moment of spiritual tranquility during the main break.
