Miraculum – Positron [Stellar Fountain]

Stellar Fountain continues a strong run of releases with a brand new single from label boss MiraculuM. The Hungarian artist seems more focused than ever in 2018 with releases on Balkan Connection, ICONYC and Soundteller Records. Now returning to his home base of Stellar Fountain, Miraculum presents his latest single ‘Positron’ alongside remixes from Silinder and Erdi Irmak.

MiraculuM’s productions although classified as progressive house for the sake of a ‘label’ have never really fit into one specific blueprint. ‘Positron’ sits somewhere comfortably between progressive house and techno, and is quite an intriguing production. It’s tough, punchy low end is encased in warm, bassy swells while quirky hooks and grating rhythms add an electric vibe. Progressing into the break, the narrative shifts skyward with wispy atmospheres swirling, before melting down to a bassy growl and classy drop. Once again a bit more geared towards the dance floor then some of MiraculuM’s older work and every bit if not more engaging.

The first interpretation is provided by Silinder who returns to the label for his second appearance. The Irish artist first appeared on the Hungarian imprint in January of 2014 with the Remix Edition of his ‘A Doomed Endeavour’. Now following remixes of Blusoul (Welcome Music) and Deeparture (Proton Music), Silinder returns to Stellar Fountain with a great interpretation of ‘Positron’. The Irish artist’s liquid like grooves have never been more on point. Deep, luminous and carrying the vibe of the original wonderfully, albeit in a slightly sparser and more laid back context. A wonderful take from Silinder.

The second and final remix comes from Erdi Irmak who is fresh off an EP for Stripped Recordings and a remix for Where The Heart Is. Like many progressive house producers Erdi has drifted into deeper waters as witnessed by a sensational EP for Magician On Duty. Here he continues that narrative with a deep and emotive interpretation of ‘Positron’. Backed by warm bass swells and a rolling rhythmic core, it’s the heartrending break which stands out the most. A touch grandiose but the delicate re-entry is simply divine. Ultra smooth and undeniably hypnotic it spearheads a gorgeous finale. A great remix from Erdi who continues to evolve as an artist and rounds out another great release for Stellar Fountain in style.
