The Belarus based artist is fresh off his Guy J championed remix of Aluria's 'Life Loop' from June of this year. As one of the summer season's most beloved progressive house tracks it quickly shot to the top of both Michael and the label's Beatport Best Sellers chart. Now returning for a follow up project, Michael presents his double a-side offering 'Geniune / Something More'. With some of Michael’s more recent material we’ve heard a more melodic side of his studio repertoire and it continues here with 'Geniune'. Warm and fluid from the outset, delicate arps and meditative textures converge for tranquil moments, while flurries of claps and emerging atmospheres only add to its redolent charm. Building with a veteran's savvy, it’s a set of gorgeous overlays which ultimately makes the track, moving through nostalgic chord changes, before the main break provides just enough tension to bring the energy up on your dance floor, but not lose the balmy vibe. The companion piece ‘Something More’ continues the melodic ethos of the EP but with a slightly darker undercurrent. Beautifully constructed, it’s tight rhythmic framework is adorned with exotic percussion and a developing musical motif, the latter of which ultimately comes to full fruition during the main break. Brooding yet hopeful, it's a unique theme and one which resonates in palpable fashion, particularly as the second act evolves, perfectly setting up a chugging finale. It rounds out two stunning tracks for Michael which makes for a hugely successful return to Incepto Music. Highly recommended.
