Martin Andrioli & Max Blade – Dimensions [Balkan Connection]

Balkan Connection showcases one of their rare mid-week releases with Martin Andrioli & Max Blade presenting a two track artist EP. The Argentinean duo have enjoyed much success in their respective career’s with a collective discography that includes releases on John Digweed’s Bedrock Records, Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden and Stellar Fountain. Having released their first ever joint productions in April of this year via Soundteller Records, Martin and Max now land on Balkan Connection with 'Dimensions'.

Beginning with the title selection Martin and Max craft a groovy progressive creation aimed squarely at the dance floor. On a backbone of tough beats and chunky bass stabs comes electric rhythms, clattering percussion and fresh effects. A timely drop introduces a dreamy arp, building across the first act, before coming to full fruition during the main break and ultimately foreshadowing a thumping finale.

The companion piece 'Undercut' picks up the pace a touch with a gargantuan groove which ultimately powers it's driving core. Mysterious sounding effects do wonders to build intrigue across the first act as wispy atmospheres and a crunchy arp segue into the break. Further modulation builds tension across the centrepiece, creating electric moments and perfectly setting up a rousing final movement. Definitely one for those peak time moments and a great way to cap off a superb two track offering from Martin, Max and Balkan Connection. Don't miss it.
