As one of the label's founders, the Rosario resident also lays claim to releases on Lonya's Asymmetric Recordings, Michael A's Genesis Music and Traum. Now after capping off 2018 with a remix for TwoSounds Records, Mariano returns to Golden Wings for the first time in three years with 'Interestelar'. The originality of Mariano's work has always been revered by both his fans and contemporaries. This latest two track showcase not only continues that trend but presents his best work to date. Beginning with the title piece ‘Interestelar’ the Argentine explores progressive minded rhythms and astral design. Following a captivating intro, a warm fluid groove flows through emotive chord changes while layers of organic drums get added into the mix. Astral effects and esoteric themes soon fill the air, particularly during an expertly executed break which ultimately leads to a wonky peak and quirky yet emotive finale. The companion piece ‘Erebo’ comes in a touch deeper and more groove oriented with a well sculpted, character heavy low end leading the charge. Rolling and rhythmic in all the right ways, the piece flows through percussive flurries and spacey designs, before an icy pad and wistful melodies add a melancholic mood leading into the break. Highly emotive, the centrepiece creates a hopeful air, before once again shifting the mood with a wonky motif which propels the track to an exhilarating finale. It rounds out an excellent return to Golden Wings Music for Mariano, who has presented his most creative work to date here. Highly recommended.
