Luis Del Vecchio & J.P. Velardi join forces for their Soundteller debut 'Underground'. The Argentinean duo have been occasional studio partners across 2021, most recently landing releases on Another Life, Future Avenue and Mistique Music. Support has come from the likes of progressive music tastemaker Hernan Cattaneo, an accomplishment which has no doubt highlighted their musical journey thus far. Now continuing to build on their creative synergy, Luis and J.P present 'Underground', alongside remixes from Paul Hamilton and Silinder.

Much like their previous work, Luis and J.P focus on a traditional progressive approach with a lean towards the trippier, atmospheric area of the genre. Smooth and groovy from the outset, it's hypnotic appeal is what wins you over right away. Clusters of luminous electronics work beautifully with haunting effects and clattering percussion across the eight minute journey, while the pulsating groove powers forward to an understated climax.

Returning to the label for the first remix is Paul Hamilton. As of Malta's most highly regarded progressive artists, Paul has found a home on Droid9 and Freegrant Music, while his equally impressive DJ skills have seen him perform at Ministry Of Sound (Dubai) and Godskitchen (Dubai). Known for his peak time sounds Paul ups the energy on 'Underground' which complements the original version nicely. It’s shapely low-end immediately grabs your attention, setting the perfect foundation for a variety of sweeping effects and spacey arps. Flowing smoothly throughout, it's a tranquil break which peaks interest through glassy clusters and a striking roll, which ultimately spearheads a purring final act.

Rounding out the release is label stalwart and progressive house veteran Silinder. Most recently remixing 'Plume' by G Coulter & Guy Gadbois for Soundteller in October of last year, the Irish artist now returns to the label with a deeper take on 'Underground'. Although the tempo does shift up a touch from it's predecessor's the overall vibe is deeper and more organic, with shadowy atmospheres, exotic drums and dubby rhythms fuelling the narrative. Progressively more poignant as the track evolves, it’s warm bass swells, wispy effects and fragmented melodies work emotional wonders, while the main break elevates mood further with a classy build and suitably powerful drop. Smart and timeless in equal measure, it caps off a great Soundteller debut for Luis Del Vecchio & J.P. Velardi, a duo who continue to rise out of Argentina's fruitful progressive house scene. Highly recommended.
