January of this year marked the Belarus based artist's debut on the Estonian imprint with a remix of 'Elysium' by The Cobb. Alongside additional interpretations by Dmitry Molosh and Monograph, it proved to be one of the label's most memorable and highest charting releases of the year. Finding a comfortable home on Deepwibe Underground thereafter, Kostya then returned in May with his well received 'Invisible Flight' single. On the strength of a remix from K Loveski it made for an impressive spring release and now leads to a much anticipated follow-up 'We Were Together', alongside a remix from Paul Hazendonk. Kostya presents some of his best to work to date with a warm groove, smooth rhythms and a forest of neatly manicured percussion setting the framework for the journey. It’s both emotive and timeless with nostalgic chord changes, buoyant arps and a striking chordal theme advancing the narrative across the first act. Sections of clattering drums add dynamic moments as the second act builds tension into the final break. Rhythm and groove never break here, rather building momentum across the centrepiece and eventually transferring that energy into a purring finale. Making his label debut and providing the lone interpretation of 'We Were Together' is Paul Hazendonk. The Dutch artist and Manual Music boss has enjoyed another excellent year, riding high on the success of remixes for Krafted Underground and Poesie Musik. Now adding Deepwibe Underground to his resume, Paul delivers a complementary rendition of 'We Were Together'. The main themes are utilized quite nicely here, staying true to the enduring message conveyed by the original, while adding a spacier, more atmospheric quality to bring even more depth and colour to the dance floor.
