Kostya Outta & Max Losev – Fantasy [One Of A Kind]

Jelly For The Babies One Of A Kind welcomes Kostya Outta & Max Losev to the label for their debut collaboration. Hailing from Belarus, Kostya is no stranger to the Serbian imprint having appeared two previous times with his 'Marathon' single and a remix of Aman Anand's 'Crystal Dawn'. Now making his third appearance he teams up with newcomer Max Losev for'Fantasy' alongside remixes from LADS and Allies for Everyone.

Beginning with the original mix Kostya and Max carve out a groove that is sure to capture the hearts of progressive music fans. Full of character, undulation and emotive chord changes it sits as the foundation for a charming seven minute journey. Rolling rhythms charge forward as shimmering overlays and luminous motifs blanket the groove. Delicate arps are beautifully interwoven throughout the piece while a glowing break adds just the right amount of tension to spark an emotive finale.

Making their label debut and providing the first interpretation are LADS. Hailing from Germany and South Africa respectively the duo have a meticulous discography highlighted by releases on Lost & Found, Magician on Duty and Nie Wieder Schlafen where their intricate yet dreamy sound has flourished. For their 'Fantasy' rendition the duo lower the tempo for a deeper yet equally emotive journey. The main lines from the original get utilized quite nicely, re-processed and chopped as warm bass swells and a spacey break work wonders to elevate mood along the way.

Rounding out the release and also making his label debut is Allies for Everyone. Based in New York, Brian Suarez aka Allies for Everyone owns an impressive resume with releases on Einmusika, Steyoyoke, Soso and Ein2 being the most notable. Beloved for his deep, emotive productions he delivers another beautifully crafted remix here withe a groovy take on 'Fantasy'. The foundation gets reworked into something a bit more chunky and spacious while a complement of haunting atmospheres and organic percussion fill in the framework. Musically it’s a touch less pronounced as well, downplaying the grandiose feel of the original while relying on less distinct yet equally powerful concepts to translate it’s emotive message. A classy interpretation from Allies for Everyone which caps off a very well put together release for One Of A Kind. Highly recommended.
