Kamilo Sanclemente – Mensae [Auditen Music]

Kamilo Sanclemente makes his debut on Auditen Music this week with 'Mensae'. The Colombian artist has been one of the hottest names in progressive house over the last year with continued support from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren along with massive Beatport chart success. Now fresh off a remix for ICONYC, Kamilo presents his first project for the Argentina based Auditen Music.

Beginning with the title track 'Mensae' we get a look into the darker side of Kamilo's studio repertoire. As the first act unfolds, devilish arps and a chugging groove lead the way before eventually stripping down into the main break. Subtle chord changes and symphonic synths add a touch of emotion, shifting the narrative momentarily before the beats drop back in for a storming finish.

Meanwhile 'Hidden Thoughts' comes with more of a pure progressive feel. It's rolling groove and hypnotic rhythms lock down a rock solid framework while subtle vocal pads and meandering motifs create a gorgeous atmosphere. The addition of some afro drums, although sparse, is a nice touch and the finale pushes the vocal narrative a few notches further.

The release concludes with 'Secret Garden' which proves to be the most melodic of the three. The tempo comes up just a touch as another one of Kamilo's perfectly crafted grooves sits at the foundation. The rhythmic elements are super fluid and once again a subtle vocal narrative does add some extra magic but ultimately it's those creamy melodies that win you over. Smashing stuff from Kamilo which rounds out a solid EP once again, expect to be hearing these a lot in the coming months. highly Recommended.
