Releases K3V (SL) – Spirit Catcher [Stellar Fountain] By Release Promo Posted on 17th January 2019 0 second read 0 2 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Stellar Fountain welcomes K3V to the label for his debut EP entitled 'Spirit Catcher'. Hailing from Colombo, Insaf Ifthikar aka K3V has a short but well kept discography. The Sri Lankan artist has most notably released on Aly and Fila's FSOE UV imprint where he collaborated with Paul Thomas on the club hit 'Aquamarina'. Now beginning 2019 K3V presents his first project for Stellar Fountain alongside remixes from Arno & Dirisio and Zankee Gulati. Beginning with 'Spirit Catcher' we see K3V exploring peak time sensibilities. It's frantic storyboard is quite infectious and definitely something for the heady listener. It's full, rolling groove sets an energy bound foundation while a maze of arps converge for absolute sonic chaos. The main break gradually builds tension through rising modulation, waves of noise and one final roll which ignites a massive drop. The companion piece 'Thambili' is also quite powerful with a traditional rolling groove and well crafted hypnotic rhythms. A gentle melodic theme leads into a stunning break which highlights the piece. Spanning over two minutes length it's a journey into tripped out electronics and emotive swells. Smooth chord changes combined with vibrant clusters take you into a meditative state, before the low end starts to rumble and a timely roll sparks a big finale. The two remixes of 'Spirit Catcher' both deliver on different levels. First up is Arno & Dirisio who have been highly touted of late. The Argentinean duo strip the piece down a touch for a spacious groovy slice of progressive house. Fragmented arps provide some great hooks across it's near nine minute journey but it's a shuffly, spaced out break which proves most compelling. A touch quirky and not without some tension, it's a playful build into what is a exhilarating finale act. The second and final remix of 'Spirit Catcher' is provided by Zankee Gulati who we last heard from in the summer of 2018 with releases on Proton's Particles and Massive Harmony Records. To say this mix has been well received pre-release would be an understatement. Already in the Top 5 of our Hype Chart it's robust framework and playful melodies have resonated very well amongst DJs. Quite nostalgic sounding overall, it's smooth, effortless flow and aquatic designs are a joy to listen or dance to and with a tightly knit arp highlighting the break it makes for an even more euphoric finale. A stunning remix from Zankee who is definitely an artist to watch in 2019. A great choice from Stellar Fountain, capping off another well rounded release. Don't miss it.
