Releases K Loveski, Gorkiz – Arboreal [Transensations Records] By Release Promo Posted on 29th May 2021 8 min read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Celebrating their 50th release, Transensations unveils a special collaborative EP from label manager Gorkiz and rising Russian star K Loveski. Both accomplished artists on their own, this cross continental duo has showcased their solo productions on Balance Music, Balkan Connection, Freegrant Music and The Soundgarden, while earning support from progressive tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J. Now to commemorate Transensations' 50th release, Gorkiz and K Loveski join forces for the first time with a two track showcase entitled 'Aboreal', alongside remixes from Luciano Scheffer and Greenage. The release begins with the upbeat progressive vibes of the title selection. Smooth and groovy throughout, it carries a sleek yet funky quality at the outset. Moving through layers of detailed percussion, charming atmospheres and melodic fragments, a primary theme then emerges. Highly emotive and surrounded by otherworldly effects, it carries into the main break, opening up further as waves of noise and pixie-like electronics shift energy into a glowing finale. The companion piece ‘Echoes of Eons’ follows a similar sonic ethos and resonates on an equally impressive level. Remarkably poignant, it’s fluid, key changing bassline commands attention, moving through rolling contours and rhythmic pulses, while sleek percussion and haunting vocals add further spice to the journey. Kaleidoscopic melodies rise across the first act, flowing smoothly into the main break, eventually melting down to a reservoir of glassy arps and sizzling electronics, perfectly setting the stage for a dynamic final movement. The lone interpretation of 'Aboreal' is provided by Luciano Scheffer who returns to the label for his second appearance. As one of Brazil's finest progressive house producers, the Sao Paulo resident has landed releases on Antrim’s Or Two Strangers, Clubsonica Records and Droid9, while also having his music championed by Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Having contributed a track to the 'Transenses I' collection in 2019, Luciano now returns to Transensations with a pure progressive take on 'Aboreal'. Commanding yet playful, a reshaped groove provides monumental bounce as rolling percussion, evolving atmospheres and an ethereal take on the melodies make for a gorgeous first act. The break proves to be quite impactful, with a wall of colourful harmonics tactfully rising to a classy crescendo, as the beats drop and the melody springs to life once more. Rounding out the release and providing the lone interpretation of 'Echoes of Eons' is Greenage who makes his label debut. Based in India, the Goa resident has had a tremendous year. On the backing of 2020 releases for Antrim's Or Two Strangers, Balkan Connection and Mango Alley, Greenage has continued to emerge as 2021 has evolved. Tale & Tone and Nick Warren's Hope Recordings have been this years most high profile landing spots, ultimately leading to a stunning remix of 'Echoes of Eons'. Operating in more of an organic head space has worked wonders for Greenage and he continues that foray here with tepid beats, voluptuous grooves and nicely manicured percussion. The vocal elements get dropped in at timely moments, reprocessed for maximum sensory stimulation, while a heartfelt centrepiece and glowing overlays add impassioned vibes on the road home. A favourite of many DJs pre-release, it caps off a landmark offering for Transensations, who notch their 50th in fine style. Don't miss it.
