Jurek Riegler – Druckempfänger [ICONYC]

John Johnson's ICONYC closes out the month of August by welcoming Jurek Riegler back to the label for a new single. Based in Berlin, the German artist made his debut on the American imprint last year with a well received take on 'Find You' by Add-us, a production which eventually went on to highlight the label's Five Years collection in December. Now returning for his debut single, ICONYC unveils Jurek's latest studio creation 'Druckempfänger', alongside remixes from Yourr and Quirin.

Sitting comfortably in the creative space between progressive and melodic house & techno, Jurek delivers a sultry dance floor smash with 'Druckempfänger'. Warm, voluptuous grooves serve as the backbone for flickering arps and kaleidoscopic synth swagger to work their magic. Hopeful pads deliver just the right emotional response leading into the break where a well crafted build ultimately cues a feel good finale.

Making his label debut and providing the first interpretation of 'Druckempfänger' is Yourr. Currently based in Vienna, the Hungarian artist comes off releases for Earthly Delights and Hosted to deliver a sleek emotive rendition that is sure to steal some hearts on the dance floor. A smoother groove lays the foundation, complementing the fresh electronic architecture, dipping into nostalgic chord changes as effervescent effects steal the air, before a bubbly break adds the necessary tension for a tasteful conclusion.

The release concludes with Quirin making his label debut and providing the second and final interpretation of 'Druckempfänger'. The Berlin based artist lowers the tempo and takes a deeper approach, complementing the previous versions perfectly. Clever beat patterns combined with calming overlays and timeless arps make for a serene rendition that should fair well in the morning hours. A gorgeous remix from Quirin which rounds out a welcome return to ICONYC for Jurek Riegler, an artist who seems to have found a comfortable home on the long standing imprint. Highly recommended.
