Releases Julian Rodriguez – Japila [Just Movement] By Release Promo Posted on 7th March 2019 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin The latest release from Just Movement welcomes Julian Rodriguez back to the label for a brand new single. The Argentinean artist has been a fixture of the electronic underground since 2010 with releases on Balkan Connection, ICONYC and SexOnWax. Also heading up the hugely prolific Massive Harmony Records imprint, Julian nurtures fresh talent into the scene as well as showcasing some of progressive music's most in demand artists. Now delivering a followup to his successful 'Canoa Quebrada' EP, Julian presents his new single 'Japila' alongside remixes from Stage Van H and Ewan Rill. Earlier in his career, Julian was beloved for his classic take on the progressive house genre. More recently however he has been exploring deeper shades which continues here on 'Japila'. Beginning with a warm spacious groove, exotic percussion and glowing atmospherics it's an irresistible beauty from the start. Soulful vocal wails and wispy effects carry the narrative, slowing building into an emotive collage before melting down into a peaceful break. Short but poignant it's a pleasant build back to the groove which ushers in a gorgeous third act finale. First up on the remixes is Just Movement artist Stage Van H who provides a unique take on the track with his 'Retro' Remix. Aptly titled and appropriately nostalgic it captures the beauty of the original in a more traditional progressive house context. It's rippling low end is undeniably powerful while free flowing atmospherics and subtle shades come together for heartfelt moments. A touch edgier than the original yet still emotionally stimulating, it's a worthy complement and perfect for a progressive minded dance floor. The release concludes with Ewan Rill returning to the label and providing the second and final interpretation of 'Japila'. The Russian artist and Sever Records boss maintains the spirited vibes of the orignal in a spacier more atmospheric context. Full of feel good moments, it's also mix with fresh rhythmic qualities and palpable drive. Perhaps a touch less direct than some Ewan's previous material, its hazy sound story is something to get lost in with euphoric synths and tasteful hooks leading to a joyous third act finale. A stunning remix from Ewan which rounds out a great return to Just Movement for Julian Rodriguez.
