JP Lantieri – Seven Seas [Transpecta]

Transpecta returns welcoming JP Lantieri to the label for his debut EP entitled 'Seven Seas'. The UK resident and Flemcy Music boss is fresh off a well received collaborative EP with techno savant Ornery. JP now lands on the resurgent Transpecta with a brand new artist showcase.

Spread across two tracks it’s the techno inspired vibes of the title selection which leads the release off. Commanding a big presence early, it’s bulbous beats, robust framework and rolling groove provide the backbone for a variety of interesting designs. Most prominent perhaps is a metallic stab, which brings moments of buzzing intensity all across the first act. The narrative shifts into more emotive territory as the break commences however. Hopeful pads and reflective atmospheres converge for moments of sonic integrity, before a tasteful roll and vibrant synth swell spark a dark drop. Perfectly geared for peak time play this is one production which will command the full attention of your dance floor.

The companion piece 'Stonehenge' comes in even more techno inspired and sits as a worthy complement to it's predecessor. It continues the darker ethos of the EP with rugged beats, metallic designs and fiery percussion. Ominous motifs and timely drum fills come in full force, quite devilish sounding, before eventually stripping down into a gloomy break. The modular-like low end sounds fabulous here, weaving through heady chord changes as aquatic designs and trippy effects build towards one of the largest drops you'll hear all year. Big and bold it rounds the EP out on a huge note and once again shows just how far JP's studio repertoire can reach. Don't miss it.
