Releases Jorgio Kioris – Octomore [ICONYC] By Release Promo Posted on 12th May 2018 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Jorgio Kioris returns to John Johnson’s ICONYC imprint this week with a new single. The Greek artist and Bloque Festival founder made his debut on the US imprint in April of 2014 with ‘One Man’. Written in collaboration with Dousk, the track was a standout on the label with a massive set of remixes from Khen and Pole Folder. Now returning solo Jorgio presents his latest single ‘Octomore’ alongside remixes from Soluna and Juan Pablo Torrez There’s always been a warm, inviting vibe about Jorgio’s productions and ‘Octomore’ is no different. Built around a romping, funk filled groove it’s the melodic narrative which eventually grabs a hold of you. Delicate and emotive, it gradually morphs into something epic and orchestral before the groove eventually strips down into a celestial sounding break. Likely one of Jorgio’s biggest tracks ever and just in time for the summer club season. First up on the remixes is Soluna who is making his third appearance on the label. The Colombian artist is widely regarded for his work on Clubsonica Records, often crafting highly memorable remixes in excess of ten minutes in length. Always an insightful storyteller, Soluna once again brings that vision to ‘Octomore’ with a deep, poignant take on the track. It’s delicate yet punchy beats are simply divine and how the main elements have been reshaped is quite fresh. Like almost all of the Colombian’s productions this one comes down to flow and restraint, both of which is has in spades. The ability to harness such strong emotional energy is rare but Soluna has become a master it. The release concludes with Juan Pablo Torrez making his label debut following two appearances on affiliate Hydrogen. The Colombian artist and Clubsonica Records label boss has enjoyed continued support from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren over the last year or two, putting him firmly in the progressive house elite. Juan always seems to have a keen sense of the dance floor and his ‘Octomore’ interpretation takes straight aim once again. Built around a rippling underbelly and sculpted for maximum pulse Juan’s grooves have never been stronger. Undeniably electric, it’s a bold cosmic adventure highlighted by a lively main theme and absolutely colossal break. About as peak time as it gets and will no doubt be destroying a dance floor near you soon. Great remix from Juan which caps off another fine release from John Johnson’s ICONYC. Highly Recommended.
