Jorge Viana – Encélados (Remixed) [Dopamine White]

The latest release from Nikko.Z's Dopamine White finds the label showcasing new interpretations of Jorge Viana's 'Encélados' EP. Originally released in September of 2020, the two-track showcase proved to be one of the Argentine's top offerings of the year, with the lead track being played by Hernan Cattaneo and quickly rising to the top of Jorge's Beatport best sellers. Dopamine White now invites Nosh and SJ and Aurel den Bosa and Ias Ferndale to re-imagine the EP for 2022.

Returning to the label and providing the first remix are Nosh and SJ. Having made their Dopamine White debut in 2018 with the 'Midnight Train / Dream Catcher' double a-side, the Indian duo went on to record projects for Balkan Connection, Eat My Hat and Juicebox Music. The Mumbai residents are also fixtures in the city's nightlife, providing the musical backdrop for many of the trendiest venues. With 2022 getting underway with 'This Is Us' via CLAN - Friends and Music, Nosh and SJ now deliver their first remix of the year with a spirited take on 'Encélados'. Taking inspiration from the original, the duo brings their crisp energetic lean to the track with pulsating beats, machine-gun basslines and a myriad of astral effects. Stripping down into the main break, the duo digs further into their emotive repertoire, introducing poignant piano stabs, while advancing the effects narrative, resulting in the ultimate dance floor moment, before eventually giving way to a rush of drums and euphoric finale.

Rounding out the release and making their label debut are Aurel den Bosa and Ias Ferndale. Hailing from France and Germany respectively, Auren and Ias have been frequent studio partners of late, with a string of quality offerings coming courtesy of Massive Harmony Records, Neonius Records and Superordinate Music. The duo's melodic sound has delighted both progressive and melodic house and techno fans, while the genre's tastemakers have championed their music along the way. Now adding Dopamine White to their resume, the duo debuts on the label with a heartfelt take on 'Oliva'. A DJ friendly intro takes shape with rolling beats and clattering percussive arrangements providing the perfect balance of warmth and drive. Electric pulses and fragmented vocals layer the fluid framework, as astral effects and emotive chord changes steal the air. The narrative shifts across the main break with creamy melodies fading in and out of coherence, creating an air of anticipation onwards to a heavenly conclusion. An inspired interpretation from Aurel den Bosa and Ias Ferndale which caps off an excellent remix edition for Jorge Viana's 'Encélados' EP. Highly recommended.
