Jelly For The Babies – Stay [One Of A Kind]

Jelly For The Babies returns to his home imprint One Of A Kind for a brand new single alongside remixes from Zusammenklang and Chris Ojeda. The Serbian artist follows up collaborative singles for A Must Have and Balkan Connection with one of his most anticipated creations to date 'Stay'.

As one of the progressive scenes most versatile artists we see Jelly For The Babies going much deeper here. The dubby groove sounds fantastic and is immediately alluring while a complement of wispy atmospherics and indistinct vocals fill in the framework. A delicate lead motif soon pierces the air, it's mystical vibe only enhances the late night appeal of the track while a short but timely break perfectly resets the groove for a heady finish.

The first interpretation of 'Stay' is provided by Chris Ojeda who is making his first appearance on One Of A Kind. The US artist has found on home on Oliver Schories' SOSO imprint along with Magician on Duty and Submarine Vibes. Here he brings his deep, distinctive sound to 'Stay' with great results. It's chunky, well carved foundation and floor friendly drums make for a groovy first act. As the narrative evolves and atmospheres drift, a peaceful calm comes over the piece, ultimately leading into a serene break. it comes off much lighter and airier than the original making it an ideal complement and perhaps perfect for late night play.

The second and final interpretation of 'Stay' is provided by Zusammenklang who is also making his label debut here. Based in Hamburg the German artist owns a meticulous discography with appearances on SOSO, Parquet Recordings and Der Turnbeutel. He has also collaborated with some of the underground's finest talents in Oliver Schories, Tim Engelhardt, Joachim Pastor and more. For his 'Stay' interpretation Zusammenklang has upped the tempo a touch and added a variety of interesting designs and themes for something that sits quite borderless in style. Deep, techy and full of great character it's a veritable smorgasbord of cutting edge audio. Add to that a killer groove and you've got something quite interesting for a clued up dance floor. A superb rendition from Zusammenklang which rounds out a massive release for One Of A Kind. Highly Recommended.
