Interaxxis – Kicking Problems [Replug Records]

The 48th release on Cid Inc's Replug Records welcomes Interaxxis back to the label for a brand new EP. At the centre of Argentina's progressive house scene lies Emiliano Folgar and Martin Kazez, aka Interaxxis. Continued support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy Mantzur, along with releases on Hope Recordings and Plattenbank, have solidified the duo's place amongst the genre's elite. Also finding a comfortable home on Replug Records, Interaxxis now make a much anticipated return to the label with a two track EP entitled 'Kicking Problems'.

As the subject of much hype in the underground, the title track 'Kicking Problems' leads the release off. Live support from Hernan Cattaneo, along with an airing on his hugely popular Resident radio show, has made it one of this year's most sought after tracks. Sticking firmly to the Interaxxis ethos the piece is anchored by a warm, bulbous and incredibly groovy foundation. Percussion comes in waves; electrifying the framework. Ethereal synths and airy effects brighten the atmosphere, eventually melting down where the astral designs get to shine. An inkling of drama builds as the centrepiece unfolds, bridging the gap to a unique sonic space, before a scaled back drop re-engages the groove for a stunning conclusion. With a modern flair and soul of the genre at its core, Interaxxis have crafted a timeless classic here.

The companion piece 'Nothing Is Useless' comes in more melodic and equally brilliant. Congruent in design, a rippling bass line sits at the foundation, flowing through smooth chord changes as shimmering motifs descend over the framework. Emanating an iridescent glow, the second act shifts the narrative, as cascading arps fade off in the distance, eventually giving way to the lead motif for a magic moment. Galvanised by poignancy, it's a remarkable conclusion from a duo operating at their creative peak. With industry A-listers Nick Warren and Guy Mantzur already chiming in with support it puts a perfect cap on yet another stunning offering from Cid Inc's Replug Records.
