Originally released in November of last year it found the Morocco resident crafting a deep, cross cultural and wonderfully organic gem of a track. Top tier talents Ampish and Kymatik supplied the remixes and now we find the label presenting the second edition with equally impressive interpretations from Jaap Ligthart and Koschk. First up is Jaap Ligthart who returns to the label for his third appearance. Fresh off a massive single for Songspire the Dutch artist takes 'Merciful Lord' into a decidedly afro inspired direction. The organic qualities translate beautifully with exotic drums marrying soulful instrumentation and chunky bass tones. Mystical and emotive in equal measure, there's a lot of depth locked inside this one, something for your heart, mind and feet. Exceptional remix from Jaap. Rounding out the release with the second interpretation is Koschk who makes his label debut. Hailing from Beirut, the Lebanese artist brings more of a melodic techno slant to the release with great success. It's powerful percussive presence is offset with tranquil arps and wailing overlays, while the main musical motif breathes perfectly during an expansive break. Punchy yet meditative, it's a heady eight minute journey that rounds out an excellent second installment for I Am Wolter's 'Merciful Lord'. Highly recommended.
