Hobin Rude – Dinea [La Cura de la Semana]

Presenting their third release of the year, DJ Ryan's La Cura de la Semana welcomes Hobin Rude to the label with 'Dinea'. Hailing from Serbia, Hobin Rude first came to our attention just over a year ago with a remix for Jelly For The Babies One Of A Kind imprint. His progressive sounds quickly found favour with both fans and his contemporaries, eventually leading to releases courtesy of Balkan Connection, Droid9 and Massive Harmony Records. Now as 2021 winds to a close, Hobin adds La Cura de la Semana to his resume with a new single alongside remixes from Bojan B and Teleport-X.

Sitting comfortably in pure progressive territory Hobin crafts a modern framework complete with buzzing rhythms and perfectly manicured percussion. Astral tinged arps and billowing stabs come in waves, creating an electric canopy atop crisp beats and a thumping groove. Opening further across the main break, arpeggiated fragments percolate as cross cultural vocals prelude a spine-tingling rise towards a classy crescendo and driving finale.

Making his label debut and providing the first interpretation is Bojan B. Also based in Serbia, Bojan's ten year career has yielded releases c/o ICONYC Noir and One Of A Kind. Selective in his projects, the Belgrade resident now lands on La Cura de la Semana with a groovy take on 'Dinea'. Setting the piece in motion, a foundation of tough beats and thunderous bass stabs converge for a wall of momentous energy. Rolling rhythms and dubbed out stabs add further bounce to the groove, while driving percussion, ghostly vocal wails and wavy arps push energy into the break. Nicely placed piano's and emerging atmospheres add mightily to the emotional narrative across the centrepiece, eventually getting washed away in a rush of beats and percussion for a powerful apex.

The release concludes with Teleport-X rounding out this trio of La Cura de la Semana debutants. Based in Buenos Aires, Teleport-X has been prolific this year with standout releases via Deepwibe Underground, Droid9 and Mango Alley. Now fresh off a remix for Future Avenue, Teleport-X delivers a standout interpretation of 'Dinea'. Pushing that peak time energy, the Argentine blankets an electric groove and clattering percussive arrangements with sweeping atmospheres and soulful vocal phrasing, the latter of which is much more prevalent here than in the previous two versions. All the better for it, the vocal does drive the narrative throughout, nicely accentuated during an otherworldly break which might be the releases more memorable moment. Sensational stuff from Teleport-X which caps off another excellent release for DJ Ryan's La Cura de la Semana. Highly recommended.
