Grisha (RU) – Perfect Silver [Deepwibe Underground]

The latest from Deepwibe Underground welcomes Grisha to the label for his debut EP. The Russian artist is just two years into his production career and already owns a discography with appearances on Groove 9 Records and Superordinate Music. Now making his much anticipated Deepwibe debut Grisha presents a brand new artist showcase entitled ‘Perfect Silver’.

Spread across three tracks it’s the title and showcase piece ‘Perfect Silver’ which gets the release underway. Big burly beats and a rolling groove anchor the piece as rugged stabs and spooky synths fill in the framework. A wavering lead theme shines in the main break, playing off the bubbly electronics and wistful atmospherics, before eventually melting down into a powerful drop.

The second selection ‘Everything’ comes in a touch more minimal with dulcet beats, percussive waves and a hypnotic arp setting the tone before breathy vocal elements advance the narrative into the main break. Stripping down to near silence it’s an eerie tonal theme which grabs the spotlight as further vocal effects shift energy into an epic finale.

The release concludes with ‘Mental Picture’ which, much like ‘Perfect Silver’ carries a bigger presence. Tough, punchy beats combined with acidic rhythms and a tight, chunky groove result in a sure fire dance floor burner to close out the release. Three strong productions from Grisha who is a name you’re going to be hearing a lot more about in the future. A great release for Deepwibe Underground once again.
