Forniva & Eleven Sins – Scarlet [Magnitude Recordings]

Francesco Pico's Magnitude Recordings continues an excellent start to the year with a new EP from Forniva & Eleven Sins. The Bosnian duo are coming off a hugely successful 2018 which included releases on Manual Music, MNL, Movement Recordings and Soundteller Records. Now presenting their first collaborative effort of the new year, Forniva & Eleven Sins debut on Magnitude with 'Scarlet'.

The title piece 'Scarlet' leads the release off and finds the duo drawing on their progressive house roots. Beginning with a buoyant kick and galloping groove, the Bosnian pair expertly works in fragmented vocals and a storyboard of mind-bending effects. Soulful yet cosmic, it's a unique meld of themes which comes together for a concise six minute journey aimed squared at the dance floor.

The companion piece 'Ultraviolet' comes in a touch deeper and with a distinctly modern flair. It's wonky tonal theme is both unpredictable and sensory saturating. Vocal edits once again play a role and work in perfect sonic harmony to the astral themes which surround them. Stripping down into its second act sees the narrative shift as ghostly electronics add emotion and depth, before a tranquil energy bridge brings a wave of noise to ignite a massive finale. It rounds out two stunning tracks from Forniva & Eleven Sins, who are certainly a duo to be following in 2019. Highly recommended.
