With a career that spans the better part of two decades, the Argentinean artist lays claim to releases courtesy of Balkan Connection, Movement Recordings, Nature, pad records and Suza, while also earning the support of Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Eelke Kleijn and Nick Muir. Soundteller has also been a landing spot for Federico's progressive sound, recording four singles for the label since making his debut in 2016. Now, as 2023 begins to take shape, Federico returns to the label with 'Sea Trees', alongside remixes from Agustin Pietrocola and Kyotto. Beginning with the Original Mix, Federico crafts a smooth framework of tough beats and well carved grooves. Its rhythmic energy grows quickly, as waves of percussion and cosmic arp fragments add drive across the first act. As the main break approaches a primary lead theme is unveiled; emotive and colourful it opens the framework remarkably well, perfectly setting up a glowing break and tastefully groovy finale. First up on the remixes is Agustin Pietrocola who is fresh off a well-received project for Deepwibe Underground. The fast rising Argentine adds some muscle to the track with heavier basslines, hook-heavy synths and a frantic percussive pace. The primary theme gets utilized well, providing several magical moments across the first act, while the main break delivers a harmonic interlude that should send your dance floor home with a smile. The release concludes with Kyotto returning to the label following the first release on his newly launched CRFT imprint. The much-loved Sri Lankan provides a different and very welcome approach here with more of a spacious and cosmic feel, allowing all those reprocessed parts to breathe in all their astral glory over a tight, punchy groove.
