Elias Erium – Break The Silence [Phenomena]

Presenting their second release of the year, Phenomena welcomes Elias Erium back to the label for a new EP. With 2022 on record as the Canadian artist's most prolific year to date, the Montreal resident and Phenomena label boss would begin 2023 with 'Wander'. Released in February, the two-track showcase saw a further evolution in sound for Elias, as he continued on an explorative path under the melodic house and techno umbrella. A broader, more timeless approach without losing focus on the dancefloor would win over the likes of Mind Against and Nick Warren. Now, following a well received remix of Blake Walker's 'The Highlands', Elias returns to his Phenomena imprint with a two-track showcase entitled 'Break The Silence'.

As the techno rhythms and riding percussion of opener 'Break The Silence' unfold, it's clear that Elias' craft is continuing to evolve. Muscular basslines and punchy beats cleverly co-ax with astral hooks and deconstructed vocals, as an epic wave of sonic energies takes shape. The Canadian allows the nine-minute journey to build patiently, exploring all paths for its prophetic design qualities, and ultimately carrying the listener away on a cosmic pilgrimage. Coming to full fruition across the main break, it's a collage of cutting edge synth swagger and devilish effects which serves to elevate tension and mood, tailor made for a magical dancefloor moment, and perfectly setting the stage for a thunderous drop and thumping finale.

Beneath the powerful tidal waves of 'Break The Silence' lies the hyperventilating helium rush of 'The Machine'. Presenting a confident club energy from the start, Elias' recalibrated sonics, metallic hooks and robotized vocals blanket a crunchy rhythmic framework.
