The second release from Oscar Vazquez's The Way Records welcomes EANP to the label for their debut single entitled 'Minoplastic'. Having worked together for several years it wasn’t until 2018 that Ezequiel Anile & Nicolas Petracca decided to coin the EANP alias for their collaborative efforts. The moniker has taken off and seen them land releases on ICONYC Noir, Just Movement, Magnitude Recordings, Mirabils Records and Movement Recordings. Now making their The Way debut the Argentinean duo present their latest single alongside remixes from Kieran J, Ioan Gamboa and Oscar Vazquez.

Beginning with the original mix we get a classic progressive house chugger. It’s full, rolling groove feels timeless for the genre while an array of effects and momentous rhythms power forward. The emotional narrative of the track is quite foreboding, as dark electronics and waves of twisted noise flow through the framework leading into the break. Furthering that sentiment is a processed vocal which quickly burrows into your subconscious as a flurry of drums sparks a massive drop. Not for the faint of heart, this one is pretty massive.

The powerful original gets put into the hands of three excellent artists beginning with Kieran J. We last heard from the Irish producer in August of last year with a remix of 'Adventure' by Julian Wolf, released courtesy of Paul Hazendonk's Manual Music. Complementing the original quite nicely is a deeper, dubby ethos which sounds perfectly suited for late night play. Fragmented vocals along with rugged tones and finely tuned percussion make for a mix that is a joy to listen to but also gets your feet moving as well.

The second interpretation comes from Ioan Gamboa who makes his label debut here. Well known for his work on Proton's Particles, the Spanish artist also lays claim to releases on Massive Harmony Records and Slideways Music. With a more prolific start to 2019, the Berlin resident is already on his third remix here, let's hope this is a sign of more releases to come as this has been performing very well amongst DJs pre-release. The pure progressive sentiments are strong with this one as a swing heavy groove, harmonic overlays and a warm atmospheric glow quickly encases the framework. Reprocessed, the vocal elements offer more of an ethereal feel, while the main break does touch on the darker sensibilities of the original. All in all it makes for an enlightening journey from one of the progressive scenes brightest talents. Definitely one that belongs on your usb stick.

The release concludes with label boss Oscar Vazquez providing the third and final interpretation. The Spanish artist is well known for his groovy take on progressive house and has recently found a home on Beatfreak with a contribution to the label's 'Amsterdam' 2018 collection. Now rounding the release out in style Oscar delivers and another peak time burner. The rolling cadence from the original is well maintained here and the result is something which is not only incredibly groovy but fluid and hypnotic as well. Growling synths add copious amounts of character, particularly during the main break as indistinct vocals and shifty noise makes for a wasteland of sonic artifacts. The beauty lies in the drop however, completely unassuming and picking back up nicely as percussion gets added in for that extra burst of momentum. Another massive remix from Oscar which caps off a well rounded release from his The Way Records. Highly recommended.
