DJ Paul (AR) – Lost Soul [AMITABHA]

DJ Paul debuts on Dynacom & Bodai's AMITABHA imprint with the enchanting 'Lost Soul'. The Argentinean artist has been a fixture of his country's electronic underground for almost three decades. In addition to heading up Metro.FM, Paul has also shared the booth with Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sasha, Dave Seaman and Deep Dish while also showcasing his music on Sudbeat and Perfecto. Now following a release on Balkan Connection South America, Paul lands on AMITABHA with a new single alongside remixes from Dynacom & Bodai.

Beginning with the original mix Paul explores his progressive house roots with a deep and groovy creation that's full of great dance floor dynamics. Chunky slabs of bass power the foundation while exotic percussion and melodic meanderings fill in the framework. A strong rhythmic complement builds momentum across the first act, before a timely break adds further intrigue through unique design and warm chord changes, perfectly foreshadowing a purring finale.

The lone interpretations of 'Lost Soul' are provided by AMITABHA label bosses Dynacom & Bodai. Known for their deep, dreamy creations this husband and wife duo deliver more magic here with two gorgeous renditions. Although the tempo comes down there's a distinct progressive feel to the main mix, with a full bodied groove and hearty rhythmic core uniting for a swing heavy framework. A tranquil lead theme adds a wonderful glow to the piece, carrying into the break amidst ghostly vocals and misty atmospheres, before effortlessly segueing into an emotive finale. The duo's Ambient version expands on the musicality from the main mix without losing it's dreamy, organic quality. The end result is a five minute meditative journey which rounds the release out on a reflective note. Beautifully crafted, it's further evidence that studio synergy between the duo is resonating on a high frequency. Highly recommended.
