Following on from the success of their inaugural release 'Mythical Creatures', roku welcomes Chriss V and Olart to the label for their debut EP. Hailing from Albania, Chriss V has been a fixture of the electronic underground for the better part of two decades. Highly regarded as a DJ, Chriss has shared the stage with a variety of top international talents, with Solomun, Eric Prydz, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Henry Saiz, Roy Rosenfeld, Sebastien Leger, Khen, Eli Nissan and Armen Miran being the most notable. As a producer, Chriss has been selective with his projects over the last decade, with Dbeatzion Records, Elliptical Sun Recordings and Inception being the primary landing spots for his progressive sound. Having forged a partnership with newcomer and fellow countryman Olart last year, the duo released their first ever production, a remix of 'Sands of Time' by Gabo Martin and Jesuan M via Nikko.Z's Dopamine White. Now, continuing to build on their creative synergy, Chriss and Olart debut on roku with 'Distance Echoes', alongside remixes from Kostya Outta and Eri D.

The title selection 'Distance Echoes' sets the tone for the release with a warm inviting groove, nicely accented with dreamy arps and detailed percussive arrangements. Deep and trippy in equal measure, the duo builds drama across the first act with chunky bass stabs, phasing atmospheres and panning effects forging a path into the main break. Percolating arps take centrestage across the interlude, nicely interwoven with pixie-like sonics and balmy textures, as the beats drop in understated fashion for a deep and pulsating finale. The companion piece 'City of Glass' lands with an equally impressive display of craftsmanship and continues the progressive sensibilities of its predecessor. Timeless and emotional in equal measure, its effervescent design qualities marry beautifully atop warm bass swells and tough kick drums as the main break approaches. Poignant synth phrasing and vocal overlays make for a heartfelt interlude, perfectly preluding a heavenly finale of bucolic imagery that should send people home with a smile.

The lone interpretation of 'Distance Echoes' is provided by Kostya Outta who makes his label debut. Born and raised in Belarus but now based in Poland, Kostya Outta first emerged just over a decade ago. On the success of early tracks such as 'High Flyers' and 'Silence', Kostya's groovy melodic sound was born, making him a new breed of progressive house producers to watch going forward. A continued evolution in sound across the last three years has seen the Belarusian artist rise into one of the genre's most in demand talents. World class DJs such as Eelke Kleijn, Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and more have been steadfast supporters along the way, while releases via Afterglow, Deepwibe Underground and Mango Alley have been discography highlights. Now, following a remix of 'No Control' by Analog Jungs, Kostya makes his roku debut with a gorgeous take on 'Distant Echoes'. Built around a deep thumping framework, Kostya focuses on rhythm and groove across the first act, nicely balanced with a healthy dose of driving percussion and playful arps. Looking to bring greater emotional depth, the main break unveils a gorgeous primary theme, delicately emerging from percussive decays and harmonic refrains for what should be a memorable dance floor moment, before segueing into a brilliant groove-centric finale.

The release concludes with Eri D also making his label debut with the lone interpretation of 'City of Glass'. Returning from a five-year hiatus the Albanian artist was prolific from 2014-2016, racking up key releases via Abstract Space, Elliptical Sun and Massive Harmony Records. Now calling Miami home, Eri makes a welcome return to the spotlight with an inspired rendition of 'City of Glass'. While maintaining the elusive spirit of the original, the Albanian artist crafts a deep and progressive experience all his own, a hopeful journey into an emotive hinterland, where dulcet beats, youthful melodies and transcendent designs emerge from their nicely manicured architecture, onwards to a finale of glowing atmospheres.
