Releases Chris Cargo – Jaded / Addiction [If You Wait] By Release Promo Posted on 14th June 2018 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Chris Cargo returns to his If You Wait imprint with a brand new EP this week. The Irish artist has continued to impress since reappearing on the scene over a year ago. Recent releases for Paul Hazendonk’s MNL and Magnitude Recordings have been sensational with Chris continuing to push his own unique brand of progressive music. Now back on his home imprint we find Chris presenting his two latest originals ‘Jaded’ and ‘Addiction’. On ‘Jaded’ Chris explores a dreamy narrative which is a slight change from what we’ve been hearing from him of late. The groove is lighter, quite airy and with a buoyant flair as delicate melodies slowly evolve throughout the framework. The break is highly emotive and it’s achieved so subtly through timely modulation and knowing exactly when to pull back and let the beats drop. A summery beauty from Chris. The companion piece ‘Addiction’ is absolutely monstrous with a romping tech-prog style groove sitting at the foundation. A dark, warehouse themed event immediately comes to mind when this takes a hold of you. The looping ‘addiction’ sample plays off the spacious rhythmic core perfectly, resulting in even more swing and the quick transitions do wonders for it’s boundless energy. A massive track from Chris which caps off a well rounded double A-side release. Highly Recommended.
