The latest release from Afterglow finds the label showcasing new interpretations of 'Dekline' by Betoko & Th;en ft. Haptic. Released in February, the original version saw this talented trio of producers teaming up with beloved vocalist Haptic for a sublime slice of progressive house. Looking to add new versions for the impending summer season, Afterglow now invites Matan Caspi and Torsten Fassbender to re-imagine the track in their own unique styles.

Highly regarded by his fans and contemporaries, Matan Caspi is considered one of the most refreshing electronic music talents to come out of Israel. Having the distinction as one of the most Top 10 charted artists in Beatport’s Progressive House section, Matan has showcased his music via a plethora of major labels, most notably Anjunabeats, Armada, Spinnin and Universal Music. Here the Tel Aviv resident works his magic on 'Dekline' with a groovy take on the track that you're bound to be hearing a lot in the coming months. Anchored by rich, groovy basslines and neatly manicured percussion, Matan's sense of space always stands out, allowing the vocal to breathe beautifully amidst sections of trance-inducing synths, before taking centrestage during the break and eventually melting away into a finale of timely chord stabs.

Rounding out the release is Torsten Fassbender who provides an equally impressive rendition of 'Dekline'. Also known as Kymatik and one half of Wellenrausch, the German artist has been showcasing his output under his given name over the last few years and landing impressive projects c/o Black Hole Recordings, Mango Alley, Platipus and Strange Town. Long affiliated with Afterglow as well, Torsten now returns to the label with a deep take on 'Dekline'. Fans of trippy, futuristic progressive house should find a lot of love for this one with it's sleek design and impressive sense of restraint. Amazing use of effects, combined with a Haptic's spine-tingling vocal and an otherworldly break make this one a true gem for late night play. Heady stuff from Torsten as usual and another excellent offering from Afterglow, a label who has certainly gotten 2022 off to a great start. Highly recommended.
