Beije – Botanical [Manual Deep]

Paul Hazendonk’s Manual Music ushers in the new year by launching their new ‘Deep’ division. The Dutch imprint’s subsidiaries already reach a broad spectrum of electronic music lovers through their releases on MNL, Cinematique and Magnitude Recordings, however the deeper, dreamier spectrum of house was a sound that didn’t quite fit under any of those umbrellas. The love for this style is growing at a remarkable rate so we’re quite excited to see where Paul takes this sound on Manual Deep. The first release comes from the Canadian duo Beije who present their ‘Botanical’ single.

Hailing from Toronto, Beije will be a new name to most having just one self released track on their bandcamp thus far, but the beauty of ‘Botanical’ will quickly find them a place in the deep house underground. Backed by a framework of tight beats and organic drums comes cross cultural motifs and radiant atmospheres. It’s free flowing aesthetic is what ultimately makes it such a joy to listen to, smooth and effortless in delivery and one that will certainly resonate on the dance floor as well. It makes for an auspicious start to Manual Music’s new Deep division and makes Beije an act to follow as 2019 moves forward. Highly recommended.
