Baoure – Last Sky [Polyptych Noir]

Polyptych Noir opens the month of November by welcoming Baoure to the label for his debut EP. Although it has only been six short months since his first ever release, a two track showcase via Italy's Cigarette Music, Baoure has already established himself in the world of progressive house. A busy release schedule has seen the fast rising artist land projects via Arawak Records, North Origin and Reckoning Records, the latter of which featured two of his most striking tracks to date. Now, adding Polyptych Noir to his resume, Baoure debuts on the label with 'Last Sky'.

Beginning with ‘My True’, Baoure has crafted one of his most powerful productions to date. Operating with a strong peak time precene, Baoure expertly melds prophetic and emotional themes, as industrial design meets charged grooves and enlightening melodies for the ultimate blend of colour and musicality. The second of two breaks proves most memorable with its shapeshifting arps, dystopian drones and cross-cultural vocals paving the way for an electric finish.

The release concludes with the equally impressive title selection 'Last Sky'. Led by a tough machine-gun style groove, its ethereal nature proves to be compelling, with retro effects, granular sweeps and strong astral themes dominating a heady first act. Concise at under a minute in length, the main break expands the narrative with a tension filled display of tonal themes capturing your full attention, before eventually giving way to a billowing growl which perfectly sets the course for a heads down finale. As Baoure continues to rise his 'Last Sky' EP sits as his most accomplished work to date, cleverly bridging the gap between progressive house and melodic house & techno. Don't miss it.
