Bagsol – Dream Comeback [Soundteller Records]

Adding more fresh talent to their roster, Deersky's Soundteller Records welcomes Bagsol to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Argentina, Gino Bagsol aka Bagsol is at the beginning of his production journey with just a handful of discography credits. Following a 2021 appearance on Stopway Music's 'Diversity' collection, the Armstrong resident debuted on top organic imprint The Purr earlier this year with 'Wish Messages'. Now continuing on an upwards trajectory, Bagsol debuts on Soundteller with 'Dream Comeback'.

Comprised of two tracks, it’s the rolling sounds of 'Return to Earth' which get the EP underway. Light and airy from the outset, its rolling low end and smooth rhythms provide momentous drive, while whimsical hooks and haunting atmospheres fill in the framework. Crunchy rhythms bring some nice grit, while bubbly tonal themes and hopeful pads continue to elevate mood, before eventually melting down into a calming break. Emotive chord changes and goosebump worthy modulation take centrestage here, conjuring up bucolic images, gently rising to a tasteful drop and smooth yet uplifting finale.

The companion piece ‘Simplificar’ follows a similar tempo and design profile but with a further lean into emotive territory. Beginning with a sleek punchy groove, the piece evolves with trance inducing arps, driving percussion and a calming effects narrative. A glowing break highlights the journey, continuing to focus on the clustered arp narrative with nostalgic moods and a classy build resulting in a reflective conclusion. Definitely one for fans of nostalgic progressive house, it rounds out a most memorable Soundteller debut for Bagsol. Don't miss it.
