Allies for Everyone & Rafael Cerato – Hunger [ICONYC]

The latest from John Johnson's ICONYC finds Allies for Everyone and Rafael Cerato combining their extensive forces on 'Hunger'. Both well established in their respective solo career's, the duo's joint discography boasts projects for Diynamic, Einmusika, Stil Vor Talent, Steyoyoke, Systematic and more. Now paired for ICONYC the duo present 'Hunger' alongside remixes from Browncoat and Th3 Oth3r.

The duo's original version is both club friendly and emotional. Powered by a sleek, driving framework, Allies and Rafael work fluttery vocal gates and machine gun rhythms across the first movement, perfectly setting the stage for a full vocal reveal leading into the break. Symphonic phrasing works amazingly well here, cleverly coaxed with the vocal, before collapsing under it's own gravity as electric arps cue a driving finale.

The first interpretation finds Browncoat making his label debut with a deeper take on 'Hunger'. The Indian artist lowers the tempo and toughens up the groove for a modern sounding version which sits nicely alongside the epic original. More emotive throughout, the vocal gets utilized beautifully, nicely juxtaposed with some gorgeous synth swagger and reprocessed for maximum emotional response during a heady break.

The release concludes with Th3 Oth3r also making his label debut with the second and final interpretation of 'Hunger'. The Spanish artist carries the spirit of the original well, all while adding his own quirky blend of room rocking hooks and epic lead elements. A cavernous break sits at the heart of the track, melting down to muted beats as devilish synths unite for a colourful crescendo and astral inspired finale. Sensational stuff from Th3 Oth3r which rounds out another must-have release from John Johnson's ICONYC. Don't miss it.
