Avasono – Riells [MNL]

Avasono returns to Paul Hazendonk's MNL imprint with a new single entitled 'Riells'. After making his debut with Hummingbird on the label's 'Seasons | Summer 2017' collection the Swiss artist returned to the Dutch imprint in April of 2018 with his 'Overwhelming Picture' EP . Also laying claim to releases on ICONYC and ICONYC Noir, Avasono now presents his first single of 2019 alongside a remix from Ziger.

Beginning with the original mix we have a uniquely corky kick, phasing effects and a buzzing atmospheric tension. It’s robust low end is abundantly groovy, flowing through mounds of undulation while a sturdy rhythmic core and tantalizing melodic theme bring the intensity up a few notches. The main break only furthers that sentiment, melting down to a sonic sizzle before initiating a fiery finale.

The lone interpretation is provided by progressive house savant Ziger who makes his label debut here. The Greek producer continues to be one of the genre's top tier artists with continued support from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, along with releases on Beatfreak, Movement Recordings, Plattenbank and Sudbeat. He now lends his expertise to 'Riells' with a full driving groove, chugging rhythms and layers of finely tuned percussion. Flowing into the break, the peak time sensibility is high with waves of drums eventually leading to a massive apex and powerful drop. No doubt headed for the top of Beatport's progressive house charts, Ziger remains at the top of his game here. Highly recommended.
