AudioStorm – Resistance Vibe [Balkan Connection]

Audiostorm makes a welcome return to Balkan Connection with a new two track artist EP. The Montenegrin artist last appeared on the Serbian imprint in July of last year with a remix of 'Solar Flare' by Pilato & Yousif. Renowned for his releases on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Tash's Movement Recordings, Audiostorm now lands back on Balkan Connection with 'Resistance Vibe'.

The title track leads the release off and sounds nicely styled for summer play. It's warm, tranquil mood is quite inviting as tepid beats, rolling bass tones and effervescent designs converge for a smooth meditative quality. Ghostly vocal wails carry nicely into the break while clustered drums and waning tones build tension toward a wonderful drop.

The companion piece 'Pulsar' maintains a similar sonic ethos but goes a bit deeper in terms of delivery. The tempo shifts down for a trippy, laid back journey into fuzzed out designs, undulating bass and tepid chord stabs. An acid like narrative dominates the break, adding character and depth before a classic drum roll shifts energy into a purring final act. It rounds out two lovely productions from Audiostorm, making for a nice mid week release for Balkan Connection. Don't miss it.
