The UK artist has been a fixture of the progressive music underground since first arriving just over a decade ago. Regarded as one of the genre's more creative artists, the London resident owns an impressive discography, highlighted by releases on ICONYC, Soundteller Records, Stellar Fountain and Sudbeat. Now following an EP for INU, Audioglider lands on If You Wait with 'Seeking the Absolute' alongside a remix from Ewan Rill. Beginning with the original mix Audioglider crafts a vocal led piece that sits comfortably in the creative space between deep and progressive house. On a backbone of tough beats and chunky bass stabs comes soulful vocal motifs and glowing swells. There's something quite nostalgic about this, particularly the break which marries muted pianos with the vocal and a storyboard of wispy effects. A buzzing line and quick roll then arrive in timely fashion, sparking a groovy drop and emotive finale. Rounding out the release and providing the lone interpretation is Ewan Rill. The Russian artist remains one of progressive music's most prolific producers with Balkan Connection being perhaps his primary home. His production generally centres around rhythm and groove as opposed to attention grabbing leads and such is the case here once again. Layers of detailed percussion blanket an electric sounding groove, before eventually dropping out into an emotive arp, perfectly setting the stage for the vocal to work it's magic. A heady remix once again from Ewan, capping off an excellent release for Chris Cargo's If You Wait imprint. Highly recommended.
