Releases Audio Cycles – Namaste [Polyptych] By Release Promo Posted on 4th June 2021 10 min read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Polyptych opens the month of June by welcoming Audio Cycles back to the label for a new single. Inspired by the early 80’s electronic sound, Audio Cycles has been a figure in Belgian nightlife for well over two decades, both as a DJ and event organizer. Having first appeared on Polyptych in August of last year with his Metamorphosis EP, Audio Cycles then returned to the Russian imprint to begin 2021 with a remix of Alexey Romeo's 'Flying'. Also laying claim to releases on ICONYC and ICONYC Noir, Audio Cycles now returns to Polyptych with 'Namaste' alongside remixes from Yuriy from Russia and Skapi. Beginning with the original mix, Audio Cycles crafts a proper slice of peak time progressive house. Driving beats, electric rhythms and devilish effects make for a lively beginning, as cosmic arps and processed vocal samples emerge across the first act. Stripping down into the break, a cinematic air provides a brief sense of calm, as arpeggiated lines rise perfectly setting up an epic, key changing finale. Making his label debut and providing the first interpretation of 'Namaste' is Yuriy from Russia. Hailing from Russia but now based in the USA, Yuriy Kolomiytsev aka Yuriy from Russia has a long and storied history in electronic music, dating back to his first release in 2010. His progressive sound has found it's way on to a host of credible record labels, most notably Balkan Connection, Bonzai and Perfecto. Now continuing what has been a prolific 2021, Yuriy debuts on Polyptych with a powerful remix of 'Namaste'. Bringing the tempo down a touch, the Virginia resident crafts a wonderfully contoured groove, crunchy rhythms and glassy electronics. Aimed squarely at a progressive minded dancefloor, tension mounts during the main break with processed vocals and ominous atmospheres setting the backdrop for trippy keys to pave the way for a deep, rhythmic and hugely hypnotic conclusion. Rounding out the release and providing the second and final interpretation of 'Namaste' is Skapi. The Brazilian artist began his career on Polyptych with his first release coming courtesy of Russian imprint in April of last year. Building a strong bond with the label, the month of July saw the Rio Grande Do Sul resident return with a second artist EP entitled 'Wayfarer', before going on to release with Harabe and PHM Records. Now returning to Polyptych for his first remix, Skapi dials in a heady rendition of 'Namaste'. A perfect balance of warmth and drive provides the foundation for electric rhythms, astral sonics and layers of fluid percussion. More dramatic than its predecessors, a series of emotive chord changes elevates mood across the first act, before dropping out into a short but well constructed break. Ultimately serving to reset the groove, the centrepiece allows for a moment of reflection as a rush of drums eventually cues an exhilarating finale. An inspired remix from Skapi which caps off a welcome Polyptych return for Audio Cycles who has delivered one of his biggest tracks to date in 'Namaste'. Don't miss it.
