Another Ambition – Terminal Reaction [Wide Angle Recordings]

Wide Angle Recordings returns following a three month hiatus with a brand new single from Another Ambition. The UK based artist is making his debut on the long standing Canadian imprint which follows strong releases on Armada Deep and Pineapple Digital. His melodic, big room sound has become a favourite with a wide range of DJs and his latest entitled 'Terminal Reaction' looks to be one of his best yet.

The original mix kicks the release off with an incredible energy. From its warm, full groove to sparkling melodies the feel good factor is quite high. Spiralling arps add a nice hypnotic quality while the chord changes are destined to raise a few goosebumps along the way. The break comes quite early at around the two minute mark setting the stage for a strong drop and distinctive vocal stab which carries through a strong third act finale. A definite dance floor burner.

The lone interpretation of 'Terminal Reaction' is provided by Pole Folder who is making his second appearance on the label. The Belgium based artist last appeared on the Canadian imprint with a remix of 'Marching Through The Universe' by Dustin Nantais. Now following a great single for Click Records Pole Folder returns to Wide Angle taking 'Terminal Reaction' into a much different and quite marvellous place. A master at building emotional tension, Pole Folder accomplishes that amazingly well here with an ethereal and oh so inviting first act. Anchored by broken beats the Belgian artist chops the vocals, adds in some lovely organic qualities and blankets it with a shimmering coat of sonic dust. The four minute stretch culminates with the processed piano getting dropped in during the main break. A touch muted it hits just the right emotional chord and sets up an even dreamier conclusion. Stay the course on this one and you'll be greatly rewarded. A masterful remix from a veteran of the scene and a perfect complement to the more direct original. A great release from our friends at Wide Angle Recordings once again. Highly Recommended.
