Andy King – Hemisphere [Soundteller Records]

The latest from Deersky's Soundteller Records welcomes Andy King to the label for his debut single. The UK artist lays claim to a meticulous discography highlighted by releases on BCSA, ICONYC, Proton Music and Stripped Digital. After capping off a successful 2019 with a release on Solarstone's Pure Progressive imprint, Andy now debuts on Soundteller with 'Hemisphere' alongside remixes from Eric Lune and Monojoke.

Always surfing the genre barriers with an effortless ease, Andy explores his pure progressive roots on 'Hemisphere'. Beautifully designed, it’s tough galloping beats play off shimmering arps and spacey sweeps across the first act, before eventually melting down into a tranquil break. Creating tension with each successive loop, ghostly wails drift across the framework, as muted rhythms gently rumble below. Cosmic synths then steal air at opportune moments, washing away the atmosphere into a rush of beats and percussion for a powerful finale.

Fresh off a stunning remix for Stellar Fountain, it's Eric Lune who provides the first interpretation of 'Hemisphere'. The Australian artist remains one of the progressive scenes fasting rising stars and his uncanny knack for crafting feel good melodies continues here. Clocking in at nearly ten minutes in length, it's soulful strums, playful musicality and buoyant groove are joyous to say the least. Not lost in this is are dynamic moments though, particularly during the main break. Complete with striking electronics and impassioned harmonics, it serves as the ideal centrepiece for this epic journey.

Rounding out the release and providing the second and final interpretation of 'Hemisphere' is label artist Monojoke. Returning for his 10th appearance, the Polish artist follows his hit 'Neon Desert' from September of last year with a superb remix here. Drawing on the sensibilities of the original the Cracow resident adds layer after layer of melodic colour. It's this trademark sound which has made him such a huge favourite amongst progressive house fans, and with a truly exhilarating break it really does round the release out on a massive note. Big time stuff from Monojoke and a beautiful release from Deersky's Soundteller Records. Highly recommended.
