Now approaching his fourth year of production following a 2020 debut on Antrim's Or Two Strangers, Andres Moris remains one of the progressive scene's emerging talents. A steady stream of superlative releases has served the Cordoba resident well, earning continued praise from genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J; while a carefully curated discography boasts releases via Clubsonica, Deepwibe Underground, Meanwhile and Univack. Now, following a contribution to Sudbeat's popular Showcrates series, Andres makes his Juicebox Music debut with 'The Story We Tell / The Choice'. Selection one 'The Story We Tell' lands in impressive fashion, showcasing Andres musical and rhythmic prowess in equal measure. It's well manicured layers of percussion, airy chord stabs and sizable low end make it ideal for prime time dance floor play, but it's the main break which will likely capture the full imagination of the listener. Creamy melodies emerge and evolve across the near two-minute interlude, casting a healthy dose of bucolic imagery in the process, and ultimately peaking as the beats drop for more of a groove-centric finale. Meanwhile, 'The Choice' follows and builds on the EPs groovy appeal. A touch sleeker and more hypnotic than its predecessor, but with an equally impressive array of percussive elements, this is one of those midset-style tracks to die for with it's orbiting effects and darker themes running across a robust groove. A cosmic sounding interlude sits at the heart of the track, building tension nicely without trying too hard, and post-drop it's absolutely sensational as well, with a bit of a twisted vibe ala Guy J, which is never a bad thing.
