Releases Allies for Everyone – Takes All Kinds [ICONYC] By Release Promo Posted on 30th April 2022 7 min read 0 1 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin John Johnson's ICONYC closes out the month of April by welcoming Allies for Everyone back to the label for a new single. New York based producer Brian Suarez aka Allies For Everyone would have to be considered one of ICONYC's primary artists at this point. Since making his label debut just about two years ago, Brian has gone on to appear on the American imprint five times, most recently with his 'Hi Low' single which landed in May of last year. Rounding out 2021 with an appearance on Miyagi's 'Good Night Planet' album, Allies for Everyone now returns to ICONYC with 'Takes All Kinds', alongside remixes from Oliver Schories and Space Food. Continuing to explore emotive narratives within modern frameworks, Allies for Everyone delivers one of his finest productions to date in ‘Takes All Kinds’. Warm voluptuous grooves, meticulously manicured percussion and heartfelt vocals are the order of the day here, making for a spectacular setup leading into the break. The centrepiece serves to garner anticipation with the rhythm remaining locked as colour and texture gently rise towards goosebump worthy finale. Fresh off releases for 8bit and his own Pracht imprint, Oliver Schories makes his ICONYC debut with a stunning rendition of 'Takes All Kinds'. Renowned for his creative approach to remixing, the German artist looks straight to the dance floor with a clean and groovy framework, while the vocal comes off with more of an esoteric lean. From an emotional perspective it's quite genuine sounding, which i think has long been a standout trait of Oliver's productions, while it's balmy atmospheres are sure to create some magical club moments in the coming months. Rounding out the release and also making their label debut is Space Food. Based in St. Petersburg, Space Food has enjoyed a quick rise in recent years. Although their first release landed in 2017, it was more recent offerings via Heinz Music which really put the duo on people's radars. Here they rework 'Takes All Kinds' and put an astral tone to it with great success. Metallic melodies and vibrant arps standout here, all while incorporating the vocal in a tastefully restrained fashion. A touch more grandiose than the original, particularly across the finale where the duo's symphonic sounding themes resonate on an incredible frequency and ultimately close out the release in style. Highly recommended.
