The Argentinean duo have been long time favourites of Nick Warren, having their tracks showcased in his sets and also playing at the legendary DJ's Soundgarden parties. Now making their long awaited debut on Soundteller, Abity present their latest two track EP entitled 'Rain Moog'. The release begins with the title track 'Rain Moog' which might be the duo's most enchanting creation to date. Deep, wonky and quite musical it's a wondrous ten minute journey to truly get lost in. A running vocal narrative and evolving effects storyboard add a lot to the sultry groove but it's the subtle nuances and delicate, musical motifs which really suck you in. So well crafted, deeply emotional and with enough twists and turns along the way to keep the listener or dance floor fully engaged. An amazing piece of music from Abity. The companion piece 'Cloud Stuff' maintains the deeper approach but comes off infinitely trippier. The sound design is spectacular; the word cosmic definitely comes to mind when listening to this and it is incredibly groovy to boot. The way it builds is masterful as well, with waves of percussion slowly filling in the framework as it's churning acid-like underbelly powers forward. A very distinctive creation and a great way to round out the EP, which is perhaps one of Soundteller's best offerings to date. Highly recommended.
