A SKITZO – Reve [Soundteller Records]

A SKITZO makes a welcome return to Deersky's Soundteller Records with 'Reve'. The Bosnian artist made his debut on the Polish imprint in December of last year with the well received 'Mournful Eyes'. June of this year then yielded an inspired remix for Marcos Dermi's 'Elephant Chords' alongside progressive house veteran Alberto Blanco. Also laying claim to releases for The Purr and Where The Heart Is, A SKITZO now returns to Soundteller for a new two track offering.

Known for his broad sonic palette, A SKITZO sticks to a deeper ethos across this EP, beginning with the title track 'Reve'. Warm, poignant and wonderfully groovy, it’s a heavenly journey into the depths of dreamy progressive house. It’s subtle musicality emanates positivity with each successive pass and with tasteful vocal gates and charming overlays it’s very easy to lose yourself in it’s free flowing story.

The companion piece ‘Ashik’ comes with a similar sonic ethos but with a deeper yet pacier narrative. The traditional framework sits as the perfect backbone for cascading themes and Mediterranean motifs. Quite nostalgic in nature, it's playful musicality is both soulful and uplifting, adding depth and charm to what is a gorgeous summer release for the Bosnian artist. Timed perfectly it results in another memorable notch in the Soundteller Records discography. Highly recommended.
