A · Tonic – Lost in Paradise [Polyptych]

Polyptych rounds out the month of April by welcoming A · Tonic to the label for his debut EP. Inspired by the deeper, more melodic sounds that avant garde electronica has to offer, the Mexican DJ has been a fixture of his countries nightlife for some time. In addition to playing some of Mexico's trendiest venues, A · Tonic has shared the booth with Art Department, Betoko, Dubfire and Rebolledo. Also an accomplished producer, A · Tonic has showcased his unique take on melodic house and techno via well known imprints such as Awen Tales, Three Hands Music and Uxoa Dutxa Elite. Having appeared on label subsidiary Polyptych Limited with 'Infinite Chaos' in September of last year, A · Tonic now steps up to parent label Polyptych with a two track showcase entitled 'Lost in Paradise'.

Looking to diversity his portfolio further, A · Tonic has collaborated with two great artists to realize this EP, beginning with Llosa. Together the duo craft a compelling journey into the depths of astral techno on 'Lost in Paradise'. Nicely dialled for peak time play, it's energetic beats, sparkling arps and emerging atmospheres flood your senses across the first act. Bringing greater emotion as the narrative evolves, it is the second of two breaks which provides a poignant apex, as trippy synth phrasing melts down to a wasteland of cosmic hooks, perfectly shifting energy into a rousing, percussive finale.

The companion piece 'Riviera' rounds out the release nicely with a similar cosmic sensibility. Here A · Tonic collaborates with Vir Dei and the results are exceptional. Complementing it's predecessor are an array of impressive synth designs which are not only pristinely produced, but evolve in an unpredictable and hugely satisfying manner. Not lost in all the mind bending theatrics though is a rock solid groove that's tailor made to keep a dance floor locked. Stellar stuff from the duo which caps off an excellent Polyptych debut for A · Tonic. Don't miss it!
