Christian Monique & Rudy Crystal – Silence [Specific Music]

Frequent studio partners Christian Monique and Rudy Crystal land on Yegor Tsarkov's Specific Music with the much anticipated ‘Silence’. Residing in Italy the prolific duo have an impressive discography, highlighted by releases on Massive Harmony Records and Lincor. Now stepping up to Specific Music the duo present their latest single alongside remixes from Michael A and Franco Tejedor.

Beginning with the original mix Christian and Rudy explore hypnotic themes over a progressive minded foundation. It’s a perfect sonic marriage and one which works on free flowing aesthetics. The haunting pads and tripped out electronics make for a hugely memorable and eventually quite emotive break. Beautifully programmed for maximum dramatic response while perfectly setting up a spacey finale.

The first interpretation is provided by Specific Music regular Michael A who continues a prolific start to the new year. Now one of the progressive scenes most tried and tested talents,the Belarus based artist puts a dance floor minded spin on 'Silence'. Groovy and haunting in equal measure, it's chugging low end comes with remarkable swing, while a gorgeous take on the melodic content burns brightly throughout. A heartfelt break highlights the piece, a touch cinematic, in that Bladerunner kind of way, it lulls you into a meditative state before a powerful drop sparks a fiery finale.

The second and final interpretation on the release is provided by Franco Tejedor who makes his label debut. Always a creative remixer, the Argentinean artist follows releases on Balkan Connection and Pro-B-Tech Music with a superb rendition of 'Silence'. Also aiming straight at the dance floor, Franco ups the tempo and builds a strong melodic storyboard across it's nine minute journey. A tantalizing arp becomes immediately appealing, cascading beautifully over a fuzzed out foundation before melting down into a poignant break, perhaps providing the most heartfelt moment on the EP. Keeping it quite classy, the build and drop are restrained, making for a smooth rush into tranquil chord changes and playful rhythmic qualities. A gorgeous remix from Franco which rounds out another top notch release for Yegor Tsarkov's Specific Music. Highly recommended.
