Yöurr – The Lighthouse [MNL]

Hugely up and coming producer Yöurr makes his debut on Paul Hazendonk’s MNL this week with ‘The Lighthouse’. The Hungarian artist is perhaps best known for his bootleg of Reboot's classic 'Caminando', an inspired rendition which found its way into the sets of Hernan Cattaneo. Now stepping up for the most anticipated release of his career Yöurr presents ‘The Lighthouse’ alongside a remix from Sebastian Busto.

Clocking in at a concise seven minutes ‘The Lighthouse’ is a free flowing journey of deep, emotive house. Anchored by a rolling, character rich groove; smooth chord changes soon illuminate the framework as playful motifs carry into the second act. Effortless in delivery the break brings impassioned moments and just the right amount of tension, ultimately setting up a gorgeous finale.

The lone interpretation of ‘The Lighthouse’ is provided by Sebastian Busto who is no stranger to the Manual Music family, now making his sixth appearance on MNL. The Argentinean artist has also found a home on Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden and Madloch’s Sound Avenue. Here he brings his pure progressive sound to ‘The Lighthouse’ with great results. The groove gets reshaped nicely with a lot of roll, undulation and character. The main themes sit at the core but Sebastian has expanded on the melodic narrative quite a bit, resulting in a summery sounding rendition that’s no doubt going to find its way into the sets of Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. It rounds out a sensational debut for Yöurr on MNL who is no doubt an artist you’re going to be hearing a lot more about in 2018. Highly Recommended.
