Various Artists – Vibrant Vibeland #21 [Soundteller Records]

As we approach the spring season, Deersky’s Soundteller Records unveils the twenty-first edition of their ‘Vibrant Vibeland’ series. The long running compilation series has become a schedule highlight for the Polish imprint, one where rising stars converge for a cohesive release that often splits time between progressive, organic and melodic house. With three memorable editions landing in 2022, Soundteller now presents the series' first installment of 2023, featuring (in order of appearance): Influence (IN), Jad0, Brann (AR), Emma Vazquez, Agustin Delsoglio, Gonzalo Sanchez, Carlos Tk, Ev Rymd, Love Drone, Modern Walking (PL), Agustín Duarte, BRIAN DE SANTIS, Nicolas Giordano and Facu Bausset & Xarly Reyes.

The release begins with Influence (IN) returning to the label with a new track entitled 'Rebirth'. Following his 'Spiritual Lights' single the Indian artist crafts an energetic arp driven progressive groover to set the tone for the release. With a contribution to the label's 2022 ADE Sampler, Jad0 makes a second appearance on the label with 'The Eye Of Truth'. The Mexican artist brings a cross-cultural vibe to his brand of progressive house here, marrying a tough and groovy framework with panoramic arps, worldly chord stabs and a stunning array of effects. Label debutant Brann (AR) follows releases for MNL and One Of A Kind with a trance-inducing creation entitled 'Undercover'. It's nostalgic melodic approach segues nicely into 'Murmur of Children' by Emma Vazquez who also makes his label debut here. The Santiago de Chile resident adds some nice variety with a deeper more spacious cut which should set the mood of a room quite nicely. Making his second Soundteller appearance is Agustin Delsoglio who unveils his latest studio creation 'Disconnect'. The Buenos Aires resident follows last year's Resonarium #002 appearance with an old school style track complete with quirky synth lines and a wonderful atmospheric break. Another Resonarium alum Gonzalo Sanchez is up next with 'Where We Are'. Based in Salta, the Argentinean artist provides a nice change of pace with a lighter more whimsical sounding track with youthful qualities and clever beat coaxing. Carlos Tk is up next making his label debut with 'Beyond Matter' following releases for Terasonic and Transensations. The Brazilian artist brings a tough percussive groove and dreamy melodic qualities which perfectly set the stage for Ev Rymd's 'Organic'. Also known as The Loco, this is the first release under the Ev Rymd alias which lands with an old school progressive vibe highlighted by a trancy lead theme.

Label regular Love Drone is up next with 'Ad Astra' Pt. II which follows his 'Nova' and 'Luna' releases from 2020. The Italian artist goes for a poignant approach with emotive chord changes and balmy overlays creating a colourful canopy of sound. Moving forward Polish artist Modern Walking makes his label debut with 'Tatry', a spacious builder which eventually reveals strong rhythmic qualities and a haunting yet groovy finale. Agustín Duarte is up next with his first ever release entitled 'Drama Queen', a timeless creation highlighted by a bleepy lead line and undulating grooves. Continuing this string of label debutantes is Brian De Santis who arrives following releases for BC2 and Future Avenue. The Buenos Aires resident brings a smooth approach with 'Go to Dance', a production which should not only fair well in a broad range of DJ sets but leads to the retro-tinged 'With Us' by Nicolas Giordano. Timeless electronics are the order of the day here with clustered synth leads and melancholic arps blanketing buoyant beats and flickering percussive arrangements. The collection's final track and also lone collaboration comes from Facu Bausset & Xarly Reyes who make their label debut with 'To Be Aware Of'. In a first time collaboration the duo delivers a release closing escapade complete with exotic drum fills, emotive synth phrasing and a key changing groove to round out the collection on a feel good note. Highly recommended.
