The latest release on Onestar Records finds the label showcasing the first installment of its 'Progression' series. These Various Artists showcases will be region specific and focus on the freshest electronic music talents. The inaugural edition of the series explores one of the world's most talent rich countries in Mexico. Featured on the release in alphabetical order are: Andrei Niconoff, David Podhel, Doriaan, Kris Dur, UnderSoul and Zstimer.

Hailing from Cancun and making his label debut with 'Enigmata' is Andrei Niconoff. Getting the release underway in fine fashion, Andrei marries soulful vocal phrasing and cross-cultural motifs with groovy basslines and bubbly arps for the ultimate dancefloor excursion. Next up is David Podhel who also makes his label debut with the groovy sounds of 'Chichén Itzá'. The Mexican artist brings a daker vibe to his brand of progressive house here, combining a tough and groovy framework with menacing stabs, hypnotic arps and a stunning array of effects. Selection three welcomes Doriaan to the label with the melodic sounds of 'Horizonte'. The Mexico City resident aims squarely at the dancefloor with punchy kick drums, cleverly coaxed arpeggiators and a rising top line which should provide some magical club moments.

The collection's halfway point finds Christian Durán aka Kris Dur making his label debut with 'Sinergia'. Kris provides an additional shot of energy to the release with driving beats and flashing percussion arrangements, which eventually reveal strong rhythmic qualities and an emotive yet groovy finale. Selection five is provided by the newly formed Undersoul duo who present their first ever collaboration 'Ixtapa'. Making up the duo are Mexican talents Ivan Martinez and Jerry Corona who masterfully synthesize their talents for a deep, percussive journey which showcases a great use of atmosphere and texture, in turn creating a meditative track that is equal parts trippy and melancholic. Rounding out the release is Mexico City resident 'Zstimer' with his latest studio creation 'All That We Do'. Tough stomping beats and electric bass lines are the order of the day here, with vibrant tones and rolling rhythmic themes providing the ultimate groove-centric track to round out the release on a high note. Highly recommended.
