Tom Bro – Arctic Light (Progressive Remixes) [Superordinate Music]

The latest release on Superordinate Music finds the label showcasing new interpretations of Tom Bro’s ‘Arctic Lights’. Originally released in February of this year as part of a five track artist EP it showcased the French producer’s penchant for crafting playful, melodic trance. Now the label invites Adrian Roman and Sam Scheme to put the track in a more progressive context.

First up Adrian Roman makes his label debut following releases on A Must Have, Dear Deer Black and Balkan Connection South America. The Spanish artist lowers the tempo as you would expect for what results in much deeper, dubbier affair. The atmospheric qualities are lovely and perhaps the highlight of the mix, particularly during the main break which is executed to perfection, as soulful motifs and tantalizing arps get washed away with a gentle rush into a smooth third act finale.

The release concludes with Sam Scheme also making his label debut. The Russian artist and one half of the Dyo Atoma duo is quite underrated in the progressive underground. He always brings a well produced, imaginative and dance floor ready sound. For his ‘Arctic Lights’ interpretation Sam reshapes the track into a smooth, late night gem. On a bed of rolling bass comes tantalizing arps and growling synths, before gently shifting into a stripped second act that perfectly sets up a glowing finale. A gorgeous remix from Sam which rounds out an excellent remix pack from Superordinate. Don’t miss it.
